Becoming – Pantera (Sheet Music)

Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas. The group’s best-known lineup consisted of the Abbott brothers—drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist Dimebag Darrell—along with vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown.

Pantera are credited as one of the most important metal bands of the 90s, with their signature sound and mix of face melting riffs and groove.  There are not very many metal bands that do rate Pantera as one of their biggest influences.

“Becoming” is off of the album “Far Beyond Driven” and features Vinnie Paul’s classic double bass pattern, which has been a talking point for years amongst drummers.

The discussion is mainly directed at how exactly to play it, as Vinnie would commonly lead with his left foot when playing Double Kicks, although his kit was set up right handed. This is a challenge for most players.
